Having completed my Community Service in Port Elizabeth in June 2005, I moved to Greece and spent 5 years working in private practice with a variety of clients and differing issues. This environment taught me adaptability: how to cope with diverse cultures, language barriers and a different mind-set to what I was used to.
On returning to South Africa in 2013, I volunteered at Imani Addiction Services, an in-patient eating disorder and addiction treatment centre. In 2015 I was taken on as their locum Clinical Psychologist,, participating in group therapy and individual psychotherapy sessions.
In February 2014 to September 2014 I joined a private practice in Edgemead where I saw clients struggling with depression, bipolar mood disorder, anxiety, life adjustment issues, self-esteem problems, and others. The office closed due to the sale of the building.
In June 2014 till January 2015, I volunteered one afternoon a week at Hope House Addiction Centre in Retreat. This environment afforded me the opportunity to work with clients that I would generally not see in private practice and it allowed me to see the impact that can be made, even when there are limited resources on hand.
In December 2014 I opened my private practice at the Medi Spa in Kloof Street, Gardens where I have been privileged to work for the past two and a half years. However, a new work opportunity presented itself and as of 01 July 2017, you will be able to find me in my new office at The Foundry, Prestwich Street, De Waterkant.
I look forward to seeing you there.
